Finding the Right Health Care Provider

My big problem is that I cannot seem to form a relationship with a health-care provider. In addition to BPD, I also suffer from chronic headaches and what has been called fibromyalgia. I am, at times, in great pain. Other times, I am so out of control that I strongly believe that sedation is the best course to follow to keep everything as normal as possible. I have approached many doctors and other practitioners, and all tell me that they are not "comfortable" treating me, or that they don't believe I am in much distress because I am still able to smile in a self-deprecating way. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like I am wasting time and money, and that the easiest course is just to order whatever I feel I need from India or elsewhere. I want to scream out that I need help, but I feel like I would just be yelling into a black hole. Is there such a thing as a want-ad for a physician? Some way to find out if they are equipped to take some suggestions from someone who knows himself?

Your note tells me that either (1) you are presenting in such a way as to be viewed as malingering or (2) you live in a place where the docs have no ethics and are in consistent violation of their Hippocratic Oath. I'm thinking 1. That's no repfelction on you, but rather the manner in which you are being perceived.

Regardless, there are a number of resources open to you the NBCC American Counseling Association, and American Psychological Association...take your pick.
