Late PTSD
I was involved in a serious accident in Calif. I
was in my tri-level home with my Life Partner. My partner, my mother, my pets,
my home, all of 48 years of belongings were destroyed in a flash flood. I was
washed 1.8 miles in the flash flood and severely injured. While I have
recuperated somewhat physically, I still experience, emotional feelings of loss,
anger and severe flashbacks of the accident and feel very out of sync. I am a
health professional that deals with death & dying every day. But I am having
difficulty moving on, even though it has been > 4 years. Would therapy help
or is it too late.
It's never to late to address the issues associated with Post Traumatic Stress. Look for someone who
specializes in just that, maybe with a leaning toward EMDR, which is a form of hypnotherapy
designed specifically to deal with PTSD.
