My name is Judy. I am 54, married, parent of 3 sons ages 15, 19, 21. I have a bipolar2 disorder and have mostly recovered from a borderline personality disorder. My 15 year old is recently diagnosed with bp2 and bpd also. I am particularly interested in the concurrence of bipolar disorders with borderline traits and have been a facilitator in a bp support group for many years. I was diagnosed in my 40's, the preceding diagnosis had always been recurring depression. I was not told about the borderline personality disorder until then, and have worked on it mostly by myself, since I couldn’t find therapists experienced in treating it. My family has survived my disorders but it was a painful process for all of us.
