My name is James and I am a 62 year old Male.
I suffer from depression. Since 18 years of age to the present (I'm currently 62) I've been dealing with this problem. I have been on medication for most of that time and currently see a physiatrist approximately four to five times a year. These visits are for the most part for medication purposes
I wish to exchange e-mails with anyone that would find it beneficial. Whether that be the sufferer, or his/her close family or friends.
As stated previously, I'm sixty-two years of age. I've been married for thirty-four years and have a grown daughter who is also married. I'm officially retired after being a State Trooper for thirty-five years.
My parents are originally from Ireland both having moved here in their early years. My wife is also an American citizen, although she also was born in Ireland. She came to the United States as a teenager.
I can't think of anyone I know who has had more experience in dealing with depression than myself. In the forty-six years of dealing with the disease, I've had my high and lows. My knowledge is not merely directed towards medication, but rather the practical side as well. I guess if I wrote a book about my experiences it would be entitled, "Living with depression and surviving."
In summary, I've seen it all. If given the opportunity, I could comfort and aid anyone who is willing to reach out for assistance.
