I'm Angelica. I'm willing to help any adult interested in bipolarity.
I'm 52, raised three kids and am grandparent of two. I was diagnosed 20 years ago. I tried all types of medications, some were effective for a while. I've had eight hospitalizations over the years with four ECTs (shock treatments). Currently I am on a medication "holiday" for six months and coping well. I'm on disability for six years and babysit part-time. I have a horse for recreation. I paint in oils for therapy and write whenever I get the chance.

Without Depression and Manic Depression: A Workbook for Maintaining Mood
Stability
by Mary Ellen Copeland, M.A. and MOOD CURE by Julia Ross, M.S.
Here's an original poem:
DEPRESSION SANG
Depression sang; I cried,
Depression rang; I died,
Depression brang gifts; I sighed,
Depression ate; I bloated,
Depression lied; knots I tied,
Depression flew; I came unglued,
Depression rode; I carried the load,
Depression grayed; I stayed,
Depression smiled; I frowned,
Depression danced; I was entranced,
Depression focused; myriad locusts,
Depression granted; I ranted,
Depression paced; anxiety raced,
Depression sliced; my heart diced,
Depression waited; my walk gaited,
Depression froze; multiple woes,
Depression flayed; tears paid,
Depression played; anger raged,
Depression created; I isolated,
Depression shuddered; friends wandered,
Depression cratered; I elated!
