My name is Jessica and I am a 28 year old female.
I am a 28 year old female with schizo-affective disorder. I would be happy to provide assistance to
both sufferers and their support networks.
I have suffered with depression since my early teens. In my early twenties I had my first psychotic episode.
I was later diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder. I lost nearly everything to my delusions including my
job, my husband, my home and my dignity. Late last year I started a medication that had just been
introduced to the market. My life turned around. I am able to think clearly. I am no longer troubled by
voices or delusions. Things that I thought were character flaws (I now know that they were negative
symptoms of my illness.) have disappeared. I bathe regularly, can communicate and am able to so out in
public without uneasiness. I am able to work an
analytical job and use the Economics degree I earned before to onset of the schizophrenia. I have
everything that I never dreamed would be possible and I would like to help others.
