I'm Nicolette. I was diagnosed with bi-Polar at age 15. It was actually misdiagnosed as ADD. I also have Bulimia as a direct symptom of the Bi-Polar. I have rapid-cycling. I am very rarely depressed or Manic. I live my life day to day hypomanic. I do not self inflict injury, however I do have piercings and tattoos. I was on Lithium and Prozac, then Depakote and Wellbutrin. I have learned to manage on an everyday basis medication free. I am aware know of the symptoms and solutions. I have been married 8 yrs. I have two children 8 and 5. My husband just recently decided to read up on the illness and now better understands me but it was hard when he told me I was only using it as an excuse. I wouldn't trade the Bi-polar for anything. I am quick, intelligent, creative, good to talk to and good as a listener. It doesn't control who I am it is who I am. I would talk to anyone of any sex and any age. I am especially good with young adults and my age group but also can develop a good communication relationship with everyone else. I am 29 yrs old, and i have the ability to relate to a 15 yr old or a 50 yr old. I will exchange with sufferers or family or both. My 21 yr old brother is also Bi-Polar, my mother is depressed and my father is an alcoholic.
